The Birdhouse is set on 50 private acres of high conservation value bushland with a mixture of rainforest and eucalyptus forest. There are three crystal clear mountain creeks and a myriad of indigenous flowers, plants and especially birdlife. Lyre birds display and call around the house throughout winter. There are great walking tracks that are easily accessible. Or walk less than 200 metres from the house to see the dramatic escarpment view north and south along the coastline.

Within a few minutes drive is the well known Barren Grounds Nature Reserve.  Take your binoculars and look out for the rare Ground Parrot and Eastern Bristlebird.

Slightly further afield, the picturesque villages of Jamberoo and Robertson are within 15 minutes' drive, and beautiful Kiama with its famous Blow Hole and beaches is 20 minutes away.

For families the Jamberoo Recreation Park is only a 15 minute drive.
